Niz Mini84 V6pro Firmware Memo:Functionality and Key Combinations Explained

This article documents the different firmware versions and their functionalities for the Niz Mini84 V6pro keyboard, with detailed explanations of the Fn key combinations for each firmware, facilitating user reference and usage.

Preface

The firmware of an electrostatic capacitive keyboard is the core software controlling its internal circuitry, responsible for processing key inputs, triggering logic, custom functions, and communication with the computer. Compared to mechanical keyboards, the firmware of electrostatic capacitive keyboards is usually more closed. This article serves only as a memorandum for the Niz Mini84 V6pro firmware description.

AW&PT Firmware

Firmware Parameters and Differences

PT Firmware: Snap-Tap function + Hybrid Low Latency 2.0 mode. AW Firmware: Snap-Tap function + Hybrid Low Latency 2.0 mode, uses a firmware architecture similar to the Xtrfy K2.

  • Note: Only RT firmware can read the keyboard, modify key assignments, modify dynamic actuation functions, switch report rates, and use keyboard macros, etc.

Fn Key Combinations

  • Fn+Esc, locks/unlocks the entire keyboard. (For 68Pro keyboard, it's Fn+Left Ctrl)
  • Fn+Win long press for 3 seconds, locks/unlocks the WIN key. (For X87Pro keyboard, it's the small dot below the right of Esc)
  • Fn+Tab long press for 3 seconds, turns on Snap tap function (indicator light flashes once); turns off Snap tap function (indicator light flashes twice). (This function is enabled by default)

H&K Firmware

Firmware Differences

H Firmware: Fixed six-key rollover. K Firmware: Adjustable full-key rollover.

Parameter Explanation

"Valorant" and "Counter-Strike 2" are suitable for "K Firmware". "Counter-Strike 2" and "CrossFire" are suitable for "H Firmware". "PUBG" and "Delta Force: Hawk Ops" are suitable for "H Firmware".

Key Combinations

  • Fn+Windows key, long press for 1 second, disables/unlocks the Windows key.
  • Fn+K key, keyboard switches to six-key rollover mode (effective only for K firmware).
  • Fn+N key, keyboard switches to full-key rollover mode (effective only for K firmware).

【Precautions】 Please prioritize inserting the keyboard into the USB Gen1 interface (5G) on the motherboard/laptop.

PT&NK Firmware

Firmware Parameters and Differences

PT Firmware: 0ms filtering delay + 1.5mm key press actuation + Hybrid Low Latency 2.0 mode. NK Firmware: 0ms filtering delay + 1.0mm key release reset + Hybrid Low Latency 2.0 mode.

  • Firmware Difference: Only the key travel distance is different; other parameters are completely the same.
  • Note: Only RT firmware can read the keyboard, modify key assignments, modify dynamic actuation functions, switch report rates, and use keyboard macros, etc.

1K&4K Firmware

Firmware Parameters

  • 4K Firmware: ISO/ANSI layout + six/full-key rollover + 4K report rate + 2.0mm press/release actuation.
  • 1K Firmware: ISO/ANSI layout + six/full-key rollover + 1K report rate + 2.0mm press/release actuation.

Firmware Description

  • "ISO layout" only has an extra '' key compared to "ANSI layout".
  • Note: Some key assignments have been adjusted in the new firmware. Please refer to the specific layout difference manual.
  • Note: FPS games prioritize using ISO layout, other games prioritize using ANSI layout. It is recommended to restart the computer after switching layouts.

Fn Key Combinations

  • Fn+Esc, locks/unlocks the entire keyboard.
  • Fn+Win long press for 1 second, locks/unlocks the WIN key.

Keyboard Layout Switching

  • Fn+F9 long press for 1 second, indicator light flashes to switch the keyboard to ISO layout (default ISO layout).
  • Fn+F10 long press for 1 second, indicator light flashes to switch the keyboard to ANSI layout and disables the '' key.

Keyboard Rollover Switching

  • Fn+F11 long press for 1 second, indicator light flashes once to switch the keyboard to six-key rollover.
  • Fn+F12 long press for 1 second, indicator light flashes once to switch the keyboard to full-key rollover.

8K&HA Firmware

Firmware Parameters

  • 8K Firmware (Universal Firmware): Static scan + ISO layout + 8000Hz report rate + 26-key rollover + Hybrid Low Latency 2.0.
  • HA Firmware: Static scan + ISO layout + 8000Hz report rate + 26-key rollover + AW firmware architecture + Hybrid Low Latency 2.0.

【Fn Key Combinations】

  • Fn+Esc key (Left Ctrl for 68PRO), locks/unlocks the entire keyboard.
  • Fn+Windows key, long press for 1 second, locks/unlocks the Windows key.
